Jane Hetherington’s Adventures in Detection – a new crime & mystery seriesJane Hetherington’s Adventures in Detection is a fictional detective series taking us through the first year of Jane Hetherington’s new career as a private detective. Each book opens at the beginning of the month and closes at month end. As well as Jane, the series introduces a host of regular characters in the form of her family, friends and neighbours, both past and present, each of whom have their own adventures. Her detecting adventures are classic mystery fiction. In the first of the series – The Night of Harrison Monk’s Death – gifted amateur Jane Hetherington opens her own detective agency following the death of her husband of four decades. She spends each month from then on, painstakingly solving a number of interwoven cases (some crime, some mystery) all seemingly unconnected, with the emphasis – in classic whodunnit style – on the puzzle and the solution. Some cases present her with a daunting challenge –such as how to find someone who has spent the last thirty years deliberately not being found. Some simply involve her following various people to find out what they’re really up to (it’s rarely what they say it is); some are all very mysterious (Why? Oh why? Oh why?). Whilst others are downright baffling – the locked room mysteries, for example. In some, the reader can do no more than sit back and enjoy the ride, but in others, the reader will have as much opportunity as Jane to discover the truth, with clues (and some red herrings) sprinkled throughout. One thing I have tried to ensure is that however much the plots twist and serve to misdirect, however much effort Jane has to put into arriving at the answer, there will always be an answer, which when it arrives, I hope doesn’t disappoint, and will sometimes come with a bit of a sting in its tail! The series is available from all Amazon sites (e-book & paperback). To read inside or link through: https://www.amazon.com/author/ninajonbooks http://www.amazon.co.uk/-/e/B007N33HUC |
